Thank you RoofPro for making our roof and skylight replacement as stress free as possible. We had moved into our home five years ago and noticed that our roof, which was only ten years old, was warping and looked like a washboard. We contacted four roofing contractors to diagnose the cause of the problem and to get a quote for two new skylights. There was RoofPro, two local contractors referred to us by neighbors and a large roofing company that advertises frequently on TV. Will Moore from RoofPro stood out as the most experienced and knowledgeable of the estimators. Not only did he show us that the roof was failing because of ventilation problems, he was the only estimator that showed us that our porch roof had structural problems that would need to be addressed before a new roof could be installed. We decided to forego repairs and asked the roofing companies for replacement quotes. RoofPro's proposal was thorough and detailed how the existing ventilation issues would be addressed. The company that advertised on TV just emailed an amount without a detailed contract that was $20,000 higher than RoofPro's and then called back two days later saying they were running a special that was still $12,000 higher. One local roofer did not include the porch roof in their estimate and the fourth one did not submit a written proposal. We signed our contract with RoofPro even though one of the proposals was slightly lower. They were the most knowledgeable, detailed and didn't use any gimmicks with their pricing. Within two days of signing our contract our project was scheduled for the following week. Our project manager, Ken Stanley, and his work crew showed up promptly at 7:30 to begin work. Ken was on site all day and was easily approachable to answer our questions. The new skylights required access to the inside of our home and the workers showed great care covering our floors and furniture and putting up plastic curtains to keep dust from spreading throughout our home. When their work was completed they made sure that everything was as clean as when they arrived. The new roof, skylights and cleanup were all completed the same day. We are very happy with the look of our new roof and love our new skylights. I highly recommend that anyone considering any exterior work to their home get an estimate from RoofPro.Posted on Michael M34Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Roof Pro provided rapid and efficient response to our leaky roof problem. Jim Para conducted a thorough evaluation both inside and outside the structure and provided detailed feedback and potential fix action options. With the age of the house and previous water damage we chose a complete roof system replacement. Bracing for the cost, we were thrilled with the final estimate. Ken Stanley and his installation team's professionalism, quality of workmanship, and speed in getting the leaky roof replaced before the upcoming rains set in thankfully prevented further water damage . We witnessed a well oiled machine in operation. Well Done Roof Pro. We highly recommended this team !! v/r MikePosted on Skip NeesTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Great past experiences with Jim Para and RoofPRO at both our house and our daughters. This time it was just a small leak. Jim was prompt in stopping by to take a look and give us the estimate. Very pleased they had a slot open up in a few days and the repair was done before the next big rain. Crew was great showing me the bad plywood which they then replaced. Amazing how well they matched the rest of the roof even though those shingles are twenty years old. Really appreciate the detailed before and after photos they provided.Posted on Ewan AlexanderTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. The crew did a terrific job. Quite professional.
What is Rubber Roofing?
Rubber roofing is made specifically for flat or low-slope roofs on residential and commercial buildings. Materials like EPDM, TPO, and Modified Bitumen fall under this category. These systems are either glued down, heat-welded, or mechanically fastened to the roof deck. They come in different colors and typically last anywhere from 12 to 30 years.
Rubber roofs work well on porches, balconies, sunrooms, and other low-slope areas where shingles won’t cut it. With proper maintenance and the right roof coating, protect your roof and prolong it’s life. They’re a reliable, watertight option built to last.
Common Types of Rubber Roofing
EPDM Rubber Roofing
EPDM (ethylene propylene diene terpolymer) is a widely used rubber roofing material known for its durability and affordability. It has a lifespan of 20 to 30 years and is highly resistant to UV radiation, making it a good choice for buildings exposed to harsh sunlight. EPDM is typically available in black or white and can be installed in large sheets to reduce the number of seams, minimizing the risk of leaks.
TPO Roofing Materials
Thermoplastic olefin (TPO) is another popular rubber roofing option, offering both durability and energy efficiency. TPO roofs are white, which helps reflect sunlight, reducing energy costs by keeping buildings cooler. This roofing material is highly resistant to UV rays, chemical exposure, and punctures, making it an excellent choice for commercial properties.
PVC Membrane Roofing
PVC membrane roofing is known for its strength, durability, and resistance to chemicals and oils. It’s a great choice for restaurants or businesses that deal with grease and other substances that can break down traditional roofing materials. It is also great for homeowners who want to walk on their roof and need a material that can withstand the foot traffic. PVC membranes are typically installed in layers and can be reinforced with polyester or fiberglass for added durability.
Benefits of RoofPRO’s Rubber Roofing Systems
Rubber roofing offers more than just durability—it’s also practical and energy-smart. Many rubber roof systems reflect sunlight, which helps lower indoor temperatures and energy costs. It’s available in different colors too, making it easy to match porches, sunrooms, or low-slope sections with the rest of the roof. Some types are built to handle foot traffic, like on rooftop patios or balconies. Others are ideal for complex setups, such as commercial kitchens with extra vents and equipment. Whether it’s for a home or business, rubber roofing provides a flexible, long-lasting solution that fits your property’s unique needs.

Rubber roofs like EPDM or TPO can last 20 to 30 years with the right maintenance. Their lifespan depends on material thickness, installation quality, and ongoing care. Hiring a skilled installer that is certified with the manufacturer makes a big difference. Neglecting maintenance can lead to repairs that become larger than necessary. Regular inspections, quick repairs, and resealing help extend the life of your roof. With proper upkeep, your rubber roof can last for decades.
Rubber roofing works best for flat or low-slope roofs, which are common on modern homes and commercial buildings. It’s a great option for garages, home additions, and industrial structures because of its durability and leak resistance. However, rubber roofing isn’t ideal for steep slopes or roofs with lots of complex angles. If you’re not sure whether it’s the right fit, our team at RoofPRO can take a look and guide you. We’ll help you find the best solution for your building’s needs and layout.
Maintaining a rubber roof is simple but important. Keeping it clean by removing leaves, sticks, and other debris helps prevent clogs and pooling water. It’s also smart to check for cracks, punctures, or loose seams, since those are common problem areas. If you notice anything off, it’s best to have a pro handle the repair to avoid further damage. Applying a fresh coat of sealant every few years helps keep the roof watertight and in good shape. Scheduling a yearly inspection with RoofPRO can also go a long way—catching small issues early can save you from bigger, more expensive repairs later.
Rubber roofing is a smart choice for Maryland’s unpredictable weather. Its flexible design holds up well through hot summers and cold winters without cracking. Thanks to its waterproof surface, it also performs well during heavy rain or snow. Some rubber materials even offer UV resistance, helping your roof last longer under the sun. With the right installation and upkeep, a rubber roof can give your home or business reliable protection year-round.
Rubber roofing costs can vary depending on your roof’s size, the material you choose, and how complex the installation is. On average, you can expect to pay between $4 and $12 per square foot. While it may cost more upfront than traditional asphalt shingles, rubber roofing typically lasts longer and needs less maintenance. That makes it a smart long-term investment for many property owners.
